Billie is Project-Nerd’s most successful in-house project to date. It will celebrate it’s 10th Anniversary in late 2026.
Billie’s parents were taken from her when she was young. Lucky enough, her neighbor Victor wasn’t too far away. He brought her in and instantly put her to the test. At a young age she learned to work with the animals, shoot guns, investigate matters, and even master hand-to-hand combat.
With the help of Jayne and Gordon, Billie spends her time around Aspen, New Mexico taking on the gangs that have roughed up the west. The three continue to fight off gang violence in the local towns and mines, protecting the settlers who are looking for work or to strike it big. But the battles become more intense as Drask and his gang continue to build weapons unlike any seen before thanks to a genius named Cog.
Esmeralda Ford is back in Esme #2, continuing her mission in Thornton!
The world is a war-torn landscape ravaged by disease, where the last remaining cities in the United States have transformed into fortified playgrounds for the wealthy. In this grim reality, citizens who need to transport themselves or goods between cities must hire escorts, choosing safety over risking the dangers of the desolate wastelands. When it comes to hiring an escort, you want the best. That’s where Esme Ford comes in.
My name is Iggy Michniacki. I am the founder/creator of Project-Nerd and the creator of Esme, The Four, Billie, Blaze, and a handful of other titles we haven’t even gotten to.
When I was 9-years old, I dove head first into the world of comics. It was barely a year later when I started creating my own characters and stories. But it wasn’t until the success of Project-Nerd that I gained a real audience for those tales.
Project-Nerd Publishing has had what feels like an ever-changing identity. We’ve tried to make this thing work in many different ways. But now, Project-Nerd Publishing is exactly what it needs to be: a platform for telling my original stories.
I’ve partnered with great artists to get those stories told and we’ve even helped publish two other great titles (Pinupocalypse, Eriu) along the way. We rely solely on crowdfunding and regional comic conventions to get our titles out there. So when you find us, feel free to come say hi and grab a comic I’m certain you’ll enjoy.
Esmeralda Ford is Iggy’s first original character and is the heart and soul of this brand.

The Four is action packed and full of excitement.
An enigmatic figure, known only as Three, has assembled the world’s most elite special-ops team, led by Max. This squad of highly skilled experts operates with cutting-edge technology and weapons, tackling missions that top governments wouldn’t dare to undertake. Max’s team performs these nearly impossible tasks under extreme conditions, without backup or a Plan B.
Eriu is exciting, action-packed, and racier than anything the brand has ever done before!
Eriu awakes from her hypersleep chamber, with short-term amnesia. Noticing quickly that there was another person aboard her ship that is nowhere to be found, Eriu begins to investigate her surroundings including discovering a nearby planet. Eriu decides to venture down to the desert plant where she crosses paths with the brutal queen Morrigan who has enslaved her people and even captured Athan, Eriu’s missing copilot.

Embark on an extraordinary journey with Project-Nerd’s Blaze, a captivating superhero comic book one-shot that delves into the depths of mental health. Join Blaze as he navigates saving the city, maintaining a personal life, and dealing with mental illness.
Blaze, written by Iggy Michniacki with artwork by Mario Diaz, has been a popular hit since its debut, selling dozens upon dozens of copies at conventions across the midwest. Order your copy of Blaze today to read what you’ve been missing.
The original, full-sized graphic novel was published via Kickstarter through Project-Nerd.
Pinupocalypse is a mix of 50’s sci-fi and horror tropes reimagined with a clever twist. Set in 1950’s small town America, this satirical adventure pits two stylish pin-up girls against hordes of zombies and aliens. Inspired by Hollywood filmmakers like Ed Wood, Sam Raimi and Edgar Wright, Pinupocalypse is an out-of-this-world story with a Gil Elvgren aesthetic to titillate readers!
Project-Nerd Publishing has been telling original stories since 2016. In that time, we’ve had more than ten successful crowdfunding campaigns, have sold over 1000 copies of our in-house created titles, and have partnered with more than a dozen amazing artists.
Project-Nerd’s comic books are available at conventions across Colorado and the Midwest and will soon be available online.
