Samurai Video Game ‘Ghost of Tsushima’ Looks Phenomenal

Sucker Punch Productions has seen delays to Ghost of Tsushima since 2015. But now, with the release date finally upon us, the studio has shared gameplay footage that will blow your mind.

Video games continue to progress in both graphics and gameplay. Even with the next generation of gaming systems set for release from Sony and Microsoft later this year, the progress of games on current generation systems are not coming to a halt.

Which brings us to Sucker Punch Productions’ Ghost of Tsushima, a title the studio originally announced for 2015.

After years of delay, Sucker Punch Productions finally has their samurai epic on the release calendar for this year. Since it’s due for release soon, they’ve started sharing details of the amazing gameplay.

The game itself has an incredible concept. Taking place in the 13th century where the Mongol empire has laid waste to nations in their campaign to conquer the East, Tsushima Island is all that stands between mainland Japan and a massive Mongol invasion. As the island burns in the wake of the first wave of the Mongol assault, samurai warrior Jin Sakai stands as one of the last surviving members of his clan. He must set aside the traditions that have shaped him as a warrior to forge a new path.

As amazing as the concept is, a game is only as good as its gameplay. Luckily, Sucker Punch made sure that gamers everywhere knew Ghost of Tsushima had plenty to offer there as well.

Ghost of Tsushima is an open world game with plenty to offer. The cut scenes and trailers we had seen leading up to this gameplay were amazing, but now we see the gameplay looks impressive as well. It’s hard to believe this is not a launch title for the PS5, but will be available soon on the PlayStation 4.

You can currently order Ghost of Tsushima launch edition, special edition, or collector’s edition online. The game will hit stores on July 17th, competing with the reopening of movie theaters and other possible attractions.

We have faith that after watching that gameplay footage again, the busy July won’t do this game’s release harm.
