Foo Fighters ‘Times Like These’ Quarantine Mix Is Unreal

While we’re all sitting at home, musical artists everywhere are turning it up with incredible performances, new songs and records, as well as fun online videos.

But as some collaborations have annoyed people stuck at home, and others have entertained, we think the wonderful Home Live Lounge cover of Foo Fighters’ Times Like These will definitely bring a smile to your face.

The Foo Fighters performed with a huge collection of known artists and talent, including 5 Seconds of Summer, AJ Tracey, Anne-Marie, Bastille, Biffy Clyro, Celeste, Coldplay’s Chris Martin,  Dermot Kennedy, Dua Lipa, Ellie Goulding, Grace Carter, Hailee Steinfeld, Jess Glynne, Mabel, Paloma Faith, Rag’n’Bone Man, Rita Ora, Royal Blood, Sam Fender, Sean Paul, Sigrid, YUNGBLUD, and Zara Larsson.

Just. Wow.

As with all the content being created right now, each performance was done and filmed from the artists’ homes, yet it all came together perfect.

Dave Grohl and The Foo Fighters have always been an amazing group, with plenty of class and character. Grohl, known for a number of crazy things including breaking his leg during a performance and still finishing the show, was never going to sit through this pandemic quietly. And the song Times Like These was perfect for the performance.

With lyrics about learning to love again, it was a song that carried an important message in reminding us we’re doing what we’re doing for love. Each person added a nice piece to a very touching rendition of a song that feels even more powerful right now because of that. Unlike the Imagine mega-celebrity-collaboration, this felt unforced and sincere.

The Ivor Novello and Fraser T. Smith-produced performance was broadcast across Radio 1, Radio 2, 1Xtra, 6Music and Asian Network,as well as on demand on BBC Sounds on Thursday, April 23rd, and was a hit nearly everywhere by this weekend.

UK net profits from the single will be combined with any funds raised by The Big Night In.
