New ‘Joker’ Trailer: Send in the Clowns!

Comic book movie fans are beginning to come out of their post-Endgame coma and we are slowly realizing that there isn’t much to look forward to leading up to phase four of the MCU. The one comic-based film (maybe only film) that is still on every fan’s radar is Warner Bros Pictures, Joker.

This morning, the newest and final trailer for the Joaquin Phoenix led movie hit the internet, and if there was ever a tone that matched the Joke-father, Heath Ledger’s, this is it.

The trailer, seen below, gives proper service to the storyline expected of Joker. Plenty of high-pitched cackling and just enough violence and murder makes fans of the Crown Prince of Crime elated for Phoenix’s iteration.

This is the first time Robert De Niro’s character, Murray Franklin, is shown with depth. The trailer seemingly shows Franklin to be the character that sends Arthur Fleck (the Joker) over the edge. Between the plot for affirmation and the apparent love story, director and co-writer Todd Phillips appears to ready to attack a unique and powerful story about the rise of The Jester of Genocide.

An origin story of arguably the greatest villain in comic lore is coming to the big screen on October 4th with a hard R rating.

Check out the film synopsis and new trailer below and let us know what you think in the comments!

“Joker centers around an origin of the iconic arch nemesis and is an original, standalone story not seen before on the big screen. Todd Phillips’ exploration of Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix), a man disregarded by society, is not only a gritty character study, but also a broader cautionary tale.”
