ICYMI: ‘The Kings Man’ Trailer is Here: Film Set for 2020
With the weekend explosion of announcements out of San Diego Comic-Con, a lot of exciting news may have slipped under the radar. These things happen when Marvel Studios announces five films and five shows for the Disney+ streaming platform.
One piece you may have missed is the trailer drop for The King’s Man, the upcoming third film in the Kingsmen series.
In 2014, Kingsman: The Secret Service dropped into theaters and built quite the following. With Taron Egerton, Colin Firth, and Samuel L. Jackson leading the film, and a unique take on secret societies that involved just enough fighting, sex, and language; Kingsman grossed more than $400 million worldwide. Cue the sequel.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle picked up where the original ended and brought Egerton’s Eggsy to America. Another $400 million dollar earner and director Matthew Vaughn got right to work on a third installment.
Instead of continuing the current story, the creative team has decided to give the audiences the Kingsman origin story. Risky move to take Egerton out of the franchise on the heels of Rocketman. This means the cast is entirely new and the story will take place many years earlier, during WWI. What can be promised is the same cutting-edge camera work and fight choreography and boundary-pushing humour (spelled in Brittish).
Still loosely based on the comic book series of the same name, the third installment will likely keep the ball rolling for the secret society of badasses. The newest film features an ensemble cast that includes Ralph Fiennes, Gemma Arterton, Rhys Ifans, Matthew Goode, Tom Hollander, Harris Dickinson, Daniel Brühl, Djimon Hounsou, and Charles Dance. We’ve even heard there have been Liam Neeson and Stanley Tucci sightings. This cast is out of this world!
Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think. The film is headed to theaters February 14th, 2020. Happy Valentines Day to us from 20th Century Fox.
