SDCC 2019: New ‘Watchmen’ Series Trailer is Big

San Diego Comic-Con is delivering this year for sure. We’ve been featuring a number of trailers, and the latest trailer added to the list is HBO’s The Watchmen series.

Set over 30 years after the comic, HBO’s The Watchmen isn’t another adaptation of the comic but rather Damon Lindelof’s followup to Alan Moore and Dave Gibbon’s seminal graphic novel.

From Damon Lindelof and set in an alternate history where masked vigilantes are treated as outlaws, this drama series embraces the nostalgia of the original groundbreaking graphic novel of the same name while attempting to break new ground of its own.

To be honest, the initial tease was met with mixed emotions. I personally think the movie itself is very underrated. But this series has taken one of the most iconic characters and turned his memory into a cult, and HBO has confused us with the initial teases it has released here and there.

But at the panel during Comic-Con much was cleared up. Well, supposedly. The trailer reveals the actual plotline of the show far more than anything we’ve seen previously. And yet, we still don’t fully know what is happening. All we do know, is Dr. Manhattan has returned.
