Breaking: Disney Channel Star Cameron Boyce Dies At Age 20

Actor Cameron Boyce, known for his roles on the Disney Channel series Jesse and Bunk’d, as well as the Disney Channel movie franchise Descendants has died at the age of 20.

Boyce’s death was confirmed by his family on Saturday night.

A spokesman, on behalf of the Boyce family stated in a release:  “He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated.  The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him.”

Robert Iger, Chairman and CEO of the Walt Disney Company, released a statement on Twitter stating, “The Walt Disney Company mourns the loss of Cameron Boyce, who was a friend to so many of us, and filled with so much talent, heart, and life, and far too young to die.  Our prayers go out to his family and his friends.”

Condolences have been flooding social media from names such as Adam Sandler, Skai Jackson, James Charles, Antonio Sabato, Jr., and others who had worked with Boyce.

Boyce made his acting debut in the horror film “Mirrors” at just 9 years old.  Two years later, he appeared in the blockbuster Adam Sandler flick, Grown Ups, as one of Sandler’s children.  His star would continue to rise as the character of Luke Ross on the hit show Jessie and his role as Carlos, the son of Cruella De Vil in the Disney Channel movie franchise Descendants.  The third installment of the franchise is scheduled to debut on the Disney Channel next month.
