New Photos Show Progress Of Disney World’s “Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge”
New aerial photos have emerged showing details of the newest expansion at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
Twitter user @bioreconstruct posted a series of photos on April 21st showing the progress of the 14-acre expansion at Walt Disney World, in Orlando, Florida.
As you can see, there is still a lot of open space, and dirt, but as these photos show, construction of the Black Spire Outpost is coming along nicely.
At a reported cost of $1 billion, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is slated to open on August 29th, 2019.
According to the Disney World website, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will give you the opportunity to live out your Star Wars fantasies on a grand scale. From flying the legendary Millennium Falcon on a thrilling, interactive, smuggling mission, to joining the Resistance in a climactic battle against the First Order, Star Wars fans young and old will get to live out their dreams in a galaxy not so far away.
But it doesn’t stop there. Galaxy’s Edge will also feature custom merchandise shops, such as Savi’s Workshop, where you will be able to build your own custom lightsaber, and Driod Depot, where you can design, assemble, and activate the customized droid that you have ALWAYS been looking for! Fine dining will also be a perk at Galaxy’s Edge with Oga’s Cantina and Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo. If Orlando is not your style, or you can’t wait until August, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will open on May 31st, 2019 at Disneyland Resort, in California.
