Disney’s ‘Aladdin’ Special Look (Trailer)
Disney’s cashing in on remaking, or better stated, live-action adapting their many animated classics. For 2019, the studio is going so far to do three new versions of their classic films. Dumbo and Lion King each come later in the year, but the first of the three is one of my favorites, Aladdin.
We’ve been teased, we’ve seen images, and now we finally get a deeper glimpse into the trailer.
A thrilling and vibrant live-action adaptation of Disney’s animated classic, “Aladdin” is the exciting tale of the charming street rat Aladdin, the courageous and self-determined Princess Jasmine and the Genie who may be the key to their future. Directed by Guy Ritchie, who brings his singular flair for fast-paced, visceral action to the fictitious port city of Agrabah, “Aladdin” is written by John August and Ritchie based on Disney’s “Aladdin.” The film stars Will Smith as the Genie; Mena Massoud as Aladdin; Naomi Scott as Jasmine; Marwan Kenzari as Jafar; Navid Negahban as the Sultan; Nasim Pedrad as Dalia; Billy Magnussen as Prince Anders; and Numan Acar as Hakim.
The trailer looks interesting with plenty of obvious scenes recreated from the animated film. But everybody is talking about Will Smith at the end, and I’ll admit, with him being somebody I was highly anticipating being a part of this project, the whole moment was very underwhelming.
Check it out for yourself.
You can catch the live-action Aladdin adaptation on May 24th.
