Small Business Spotlight – Amanda Lynn Chainmaille and Scalemail
If you’re looking for an absolutely stunning and unique new twist on cosplay, look no further than the amazing creations by Mike & Amanda of Amanda Lynn Chainmaille. Mike and Amanda started making chainmaille and scalemail jewelry eight years ago as a hobby.
In 2011, it became a full-fledged business. Over the next few years, their business grew. Eventually, they added scale maille costumes and tops, upcycled comic book products, and other geeky items to their inventory. Amanda Lynn Chainmail is now one of the largest chainmail operations in the Midwest.
In addition to the thousands of regular customers they have served, Mike & Amanda have built scalemaille armor for operas, theaters, famous authors, and celebrities. They don’t keep an exact count, but between the two of them, they bend approximately 500,000 rings per year.
Wonder Woman is their best-selling scalemaille costume by far, making and selling twice as many of that costume than any other. That is no wonder. Look how fabulous it is!
You can follow this amazing business on Facebook at Amanda Lynn Chainmaille.
In addition to doing dozens of shows and comic conventions throughout the year, they also spend two months of the year at the Kansas City Renaissance Festival during the fall! She-Ra worn by Erin Butt Pictured Model above and below: Oh My Sophii!
Mike and Amanda sell at comic conventions across the country as well as online through their Etsy Shop!

They don’t sell full costumes online as they prefer doing sizing in person. However, they do sell loads of their comic goodies and jewelry, as well as supplies to try your hand at building your own scalemail pieces!!
