Project-Nerd.com Shutting Down Operation on September 3rd
It is with a heavy heart that I write to you many site visitors today to let you know that after Saturday, September 3, 2016, Project-Nerd will no longer be producing new content.
It is time for us to give one hell of a finale, take our bow, and ride off into the sunset.
Before I go too far into details about everything I want you all to know that this is not a surrender. It is not us quitting and giving up. Project-Nerd will still live on in many ways, just no longer through a traditional geek blog.
As the brand has grown, so have the many ventures we have taken on. This has stretched me, and a few others, very thin. As amazing as it has been to work on Project-Nerd day-in and day-out, it has also been a time suck that doesn’t allow us to focus on the many new things we are doing under the EEON umbrella.
Project-Nerd Publishing will continue to grow and move forward, with three new original comics in the works, two awesome outside projects joining our slate, and even a photography book in development. Project Cosplay will still be Denver’s premiere cosplay event, growing for year two with plenty to offer the community. Even the Podcast Network will live on under the EEON umbrella, allowing us to have fun chats and bring you, what we consider, entertainment on a weekly basis.
All this will continue, but in order for it to do so, we must let the blog see its final posts.
Project-Nerd will continue to be a brand the geek community can look too, not just through those items above, but through the site remaining online for you to revisit your favorite posts and through new ventures we are exploring thanks to what the brand has already accomplished.
I do not regret one bit of this change, as even after four plus years of giving so much to the site, letting it no longer be is very difficult. But at the same time, it has allowed me to pursue my dream to become a comic book creator and has allowed us to make relationships and connections that will see these new ventures we have taken on be successful and impactful in the community.
Again, we thank you all for visiting us. Whether this was your first time to the site or you were a daily guest, we can’t thank you enough for making Project-Nerd a recognized brand across the world.
This is a big change, but hopefully will bring an exciting new chapter to so many of us as each of these awesome staff members continue to grow in the geek community.
But, “before I go, I just want to say you were fantastic. Absolutely fantastic. And you know what? So was I!”
Thank you all.
