Jawdropping Valkyrie Eeveelution Cosplay Group (Katsucon 2016)
“Everything about these cosplays is brilliantly done. From the dazzling use of color and texture on each design to the inclusion of type symbols on Eevee’s shield. Each person involved did an amazing job and working they were able to create something truly inspiring. This is more than just gorgeous women in awesome costumes this is a work of art.” – Shayna Polomchak: Project-Nerd costume tutorial writer and Cosplayer.
This group has been being planned for a long time. Becka Noel was the original sketch artist for the costumes. She was also the amazing organizer of this group. She took the adorable Eevee and turned it into a badass Valkyrie warrior. With the help of Gladzy Kei Art & Cosplay the original sketches were digitally colored and the weapon designs were done by Zach Fischer Illustration.
Every cosplayer made their own costumes past the initial concepts but as you an see there was a lot of pre-planning and dedication put into this particular project to bring us this amazing group. I say this to remind everyone that cosplay is more than just a pretty face in a costume these people put so much behind their passions. These Pokemon are very rare folks there is only a 12.5% chance of an Eevee or it’s evolution being female according to the Pokedex. It is very hard to see a group like this all in one place. If you want to check out each cosplayer’s work individually their Facebook page will be tagged beneath each photograph.
Also big thanks Dave Yang Photography for releasing his photographs to us so we could put together this awesome article. If you are a photographer and want to understand how to better set up shots check out his work. As a photographer myself he is one of my heroes.
