‘Code of Silence’ Arrow Recap 4.14

Warning: Our television series recaps contain spoilers of the episode being reviewed as well as episodes leading up to it.

Those H.I.V.E. guys, eh? Setting up some bombs to try and get rid of Ollie? Boy, they’re evil and dumb. In that order. In this week’s episode of Arrow, Ollie is still under attack with both his public persona and his more private persona as the Green Arrow. That’s a rough life, but somebody’s got to live it.

There are lots of cats and bags in this episode. And cats running out of bags. You know, that whole “cat’s out of the bag” thing. Thea now knows that Ollie has a secret son. Seems like everyone is finding out. It’s only a matter of time before Felicity finds out. And I’m guessing that’s going to be bad news.

Back to those bombs. Ollie and his new esteemed opponent in the race for mayor of Star City, Ruvé Adams, have a debate coming up. Now, Ruvé Adams is married to Damien Darhk and is obviously evil too. So many evil people to deal with on Arrow. Ruvé used her husband’s H.I.V.E. people to set up some bombs to take out the building the debate is taking place in. Luckily, Team Arrow stops the bombs, and the debate continues as planned.

That’s not the only bomb; Quentin Lance is on the outs with H.I.V.E. and they tried to bring a building down on him. And I don’t mean that like in a fun way where your friend’s crappy band claims they’re going to bring the house down in some kind of rocking fashion. I mean they literally blew up a building with him inside. He survived.

Quentin, now afraid for his life, breaks up with Felicity’s mom, Donna. Understandably, she was rather upset by it. But then she finds out he did it to protect her. Commence with the smooching.

Oh, one last thing before I go. Michael Holt has invented a spinal implant that might let Felicity walk again. Say what?! That’s quite the breakthrough there, Mr. Terrific!
