‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles/Ghostbusters #1-4’ Comic Review

The end is nigh. Or more accurately the end is here as the fourth issue of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles/Ghostbusters has finally arrived. This has been one wild ride of a story that represents the best of both worlds in one nifty storyline.

In the beginning of the series, the spirit Chin-you, along with the turtles, gets shifted over into the Ghosbusters universe. Here Chin-you moves from being a simple spirit to having near-godlike powers as the baddies in the Ghostbusters comics are wont to do. Both Casey Jones and Winston get possessed, which is a nice change of pace since it seems that it’s always Ray who gets taken over by evil spirits. Eventually Egon and Donatello are able to create a device to send the turtles and friends back to their home dimension.

What’s great about this series is that it’s handled by people who are involved with both the current Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Ghostbusters comics. This isn’t some throw away crossover. It’s for real. These four issues expand on the stories from their respective comics.

If you haven’t been picking these issues up as they drop, check with your local comic store. Who knows, they may be in the back issues bin. This is definitely a fun series that fans of either storyline will enjoy. But let’s face it, you’re probably a fan of both. I know I am. And I’m pretty cool. If you’d rather wait, I’m sure the trade collection will be out before you know it.

Overall, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles/Ghostbusters is a fun romp that contains real continuity to it. If you collect either series be sure to grab this as well. Cowabunga, dudes.
