‘Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 2’ Teased at SDCC
Marvel’s panel was huge as expected. But even with Doctor Strange, Black Panther, and X-Men related TV news, there was one big trailer everybody was waiting for.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 2!
Marvel held out until the end of the night, but as James Gunn promised, a teaser was released at Comic-Con International and it did not disappoint.
The panel finally told us what we all expected (spoilers), Kurt Russell is in fact Star Lord’s father and, even cooler, he’s Ego! That’s right, Russell is voicing a planet that, in the footage shared, tells Baby Groot he in fact has a penis (for reproductive purposes obviously). As the excitement built and built with each bit of information released, we finally got what we had been waiting for… or at least the people at the panel did.
We’ll edit in the trailer or footage as soon as it becomes available online, but in the meantime just know that people are excited about Ego and Groot as they both supposedly stole the spotlight.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 2 is the anticipated follow-up to the successful first installment directed by James Gunn and starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, and Michael Rooker while also featuring the voices of Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper. It’s set for release in 2017.
The panel also released details about Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout, a new attraction coming to Disney theme parks in 2017.
