Netflix: New for February 2016

There’s another month around the corner, so that means changes are coming for everybody’s favorite streaming service.

In our new monthly spotlight, we focus on the latest exciting things you can find on Netflix. But even with all the excitement we are about to share, we also have some series and movies departing that might send us to Amazon for purchase.

All eight seasons of Doctor Who will be pulled from the streaming service as of Monday, February 1st. But other nerds might be equally upset by the huge slate of Pokemon content and The Guild: Season 1 also being removed. I think some binge-watching is in order for this weekend.

But February has plenty to offer, including some entertaining films and eight new original Netflix productions. I can say we definitely have a few favorites we’re looking forward to.

Full Metal Jacket

Spotlight

Full Metal Jacket on February 1st

Stanley Kubrick was a god amongst men when it came to filmmaking. Full Metal Jacket is one of the many fine examples of that. The intense war drama, featuring some amazing performances, is not to be taken lightly and not to be missed whether you’ve seen it already or not. Oh, and if you haven’t seen it, get to it!

Stardust on February 1st

A fun and mostly accurate adaptation of the Neil Gaiman book featuring the same title. It’s a great movie that the entire family can enjoy, but it’s also entertaining enough you can watch it on your own.

Mad Men: Season 7: Part 2 on February 5th

The final installment of one of my favorite series of all time was no letdown. The last seven episodes were as intriguing as any other season and for those who haven’t had the chance to see them yet, you finally get to. It’s hard to see this show end, but it’s good to know that now all the episodes will be on Netflix for us to enjoy.
