It’s that time of the year again. Snow falling, families gathering, winter blockbusters hitting the theaters, and, of course, holiday shopping.
This year, Project-Nerd has made it easy on you. We have lists catered to every nerdy or odd individual in your life. But let us not forget the kids, as they can be geeky too.
If you are in need of some holiday shopping ideas for the tots, you’ve come to the right place.
Sonic Screwdriver
With The Doctor and Clara running around time and space again, geeky families everywhere are sitting down to enjoy the Time Lord’s adventures. In many houses, especially mine, the little Whovians immediately develop an instant need for their own Sonic Screwdriver. Luckily, that’s a thing you can make a reality.
Owly Comics
Comics of any kind are highly recommended for kids (and adults), but what about those children just now learning to read? Owly Comics are the perfect solution for young children with an interest in comics, active imaginations, and eagerness to learn to read.
Rocket Raccoon Plush
The biggest draw of the summer, Guardians of the Galaxy, grabbed the attention of all age ranges especially with Rocket and Groot running around. Thankfully the limited-edition ReedPOP Rocket Raccoon Plush is available online, so your kids can have their own misunderstood alien.
Hubsan X4 H107 Micro Quad Copter
It’s not all pop culture and comics here; sometimes a little tech is needed for the holidays. The Hubsan X4 H107 is a micro quadcopter that won’t break the bank. The R/C vehicle flies very well and is something to take out and enjoy right away. But you know, with all of these freezing temperatures, maybe flying outside should wait until the spring.
LEGO DeLorean Time Machine Play Set
With all the LEGO choices, it was hard to pick just one. But for the young kid (and, more importantly, the adult trying to find an excuse to play with these cool toys), the DeLorean Time Machine set from Back to the Future is a no brainer.
Wii U: MarioKart Bundle
The Wii U seemed like a half-brained attempt by Nintendo to further the success of the Wii. It hasn’t worked great, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t translate to a great family system. By now that Wii of yours is worn out, and the kids are eager for more family gaming action. With a few great titles now available (Mario Kart 8 and a new Zelda on the way) and the inclusion of characters that can attach right to the video controller, the Wii U is finally ready to be gifted this holiday season.
Big Hero 6 Action Figures
Baymax and the gang stole the hearts of families everywhere, with this lesser-known Marvel Comics title storming onto the big screen last month. The adventures the team encountered in the movie made for an easy transition into your living room with the awesome Big Hero 6 action figures.
Elsa Dress
The world’s been letting it go for a year now. The smash hit of last winter is still a hit today, and the Frozen toys and accessories are everywhere this season. If your little one didn’t get an Elsa dress for Halloween, then maybe it’s time to pick one up.
Kindle Fire: Kids Edition
Amazon’s Kindle Fire may not be a one-size-fits-all tablet, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t an option for your kids. The Kindle Fire: Kid’s Edition is just $20 more than the regular Kindle Fire and offers a protective case, 2-year accidental protection plan, and a year of parental control software. This bundle is a perfect buyer for the future techie in your house.
Infinity 2.0: Marvel Starter Pack & Characters
Our favorite choice for the holiday season is Disney’s Infinity 2.0, specifically the Marvel Starter Pack. Available across all the current systems, the Marvel Starter Pack includes three Avengers characters and the Avengers game piece. All original Infinity characters can be used in the Toybox, and there are a number of additional characters and game pieces available as well.
With kids being the top market during the holidays (and year-round for that matter), it’s hard to select just ten gifts that would be perfect this season. But these ten will help with that Parent-of-the-Winter award.
If you have any other gift suggestions or ideas, feel free to share them in the comments below.
