It’s time for the holidays, and that means getting gifts for those in your life you love. But let’s face it, not everybody in your life is, how should we say, normal. So what do you pick up for weird Uncle Karl or that awkward friend that you hangout with for whatever reason? Don’t worry, we have you covered.
Here’s Project-Nerd’s The Ten Obscure (and Weird) Gifts for the Holidays.
Paul Phoenix Car Decal
I don’t know about you, but when I first started playing Tekken –in the arcade—I always chose Paul Phoenix. I mean, he was a biker and his huge flat top thing just made him look cool, not to mention his move-set was fairly simple and he had great power. Only $3.89 on Amazon, plus they have some Jin Kazama ones too… if you’re lame!
Clone High: Complete 1st Season
This show was awesome, plain and simple. It ran on MTV until that poisonous doppelganger of mine Ashton Kutcher was gifted the animated comedy’s spot on Monday nights with Punk’d. Blehck. You can find the 13 episode season on Amazon for between 20 and 30 bucks. Steal as I bought a pirated copy on eBay for like 50 dollars in 2004!
12 pack of Surge
Surge is wonderful, everyone knows it. Get a 12 pack if the prices go back down! Or, you know, if you’re rich. They were at under 20 dollars, but now all you can find is the $70+ scams.
Red Card Soccer PS2
Did you ever wish there was a soccer game in the style of NFL Blitz? Well there was and it was made by Midway as well! It’s well worth the $25 price tag on Amazon.
Samurai Jack Shirts
It’s getting cold so long sleeves are a must. Why not have Samurai Jack on it? Amazon seller Son of Gotham has quite the variety of styles from $20-40 and save a fiver if you order three or more items!
Bill Murray Tune Squad Jersey
Space Jam was cool, but a Bill Murray Tune Squad jersey of your own would be cooler. $30 bucks on Etsy and it’s yours, or you can always get a customizable Monstars jersey on there instead.
Darth Vader Vans Slip-Ons
I used to have a pair of Tupac slip-ons that were the talk of the town; these Vader ones might give them a run for their money. If you can find your size they’re only $62.95 on Amazon.
‘Baraka’ Obama Decal
Play on words, Mortal Kombat, the President of the United States of America: do we really need anything else? If you don’t have a Mac they have car decals too. The MacBook decal is only $5.99 on Amazon.
Elvis Costello Pillow
I recently changed my ringback tone to Elvis Costello, not that you care, but this pillow with his famous stereophonic image just looks really nice.
And it’s only $20 on Amazon.
New Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
So Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is one of my absolute favorite movies, but have you ever wondered what it would look like if it was a Taiwanese TV show with horrible acting and production value? Well for like 8 bucks on Amazon you can; and trust me, you will be entertained.
