Casting Call – Gears of War!
We ran it a few times at Project-Blu, but it seems just as appropriate to have here at Project-Nerd. It’s Casting Call! We cast a movie based on a video game, book, or comic and hope for the best once the studio does decide to do the project.
This week… Gears of War!
Marcus Fenix (Gerard Butler)
Gerard Butler is one of the prime leading action men. His looks aren’t perfect for Fenix, but they’re pretty close. It’s all in the attitude though with Fenix, and Butler can replicate that perfectly.
Dominic Santiago (Dominic Purcell)
The look is there, and so is the style. Dominic would play Dominic well, and that’s evident from his role in Prison Break. His desperate attempt to find his wife is similar to his desperate attempt to free his brother.
Augustus Cole (Michael Clarke Duncan)
The Cole Train! Duncan is big, black, and powerful… just like Augustus Cole. The cockiness is there too. There is no better actor to play this part; fact!
Damon Baird (Josh Duhamel)
A cynical and reluctant soldier, whose main strengths lie in his intelligence. No, this isn’t Duhamal’s Transformers character, but it is fairly close. Basically, Duhamel has done the role in an inferior trilogy, might as well let him do it again.
Maria Santiago (Paula Garces)
She’s only really known for her role in Harold and Kumar, but this could be Paula Garces’ chance to show a little bit of range. She looks the part, and the role isn’t huge so it wouldn’t be a huge gamble.
Minh Young Kim (Jason Scott Lee)
Just look at the photos. It’s perfect. The by the book soldier, who’s tough through and through needs a solid muscle man to potray him. Lee’s the perfect fit.
Anthony Carmine (Giovanni Ribisi)
Sure he’s hiding behind a mask, but the behaviors, attitude and voice is Ribisi through and through. He’s got a bit of arrogance to him and he’s ready to fight to the finish.
